 The Floor of the Atrium dates back to the eleventh and twelfth centuries; the tradition narrates that exactly here, on the plate of red marble, in 1177 there was the meeting between Federico Barbarossa and Pope Alexander the third. The overlooking ceiling is covered by mosaics of the twelfth and thirtieth centuries, that episodes of the Old Testament. |
