| ST. MARK'S BASILICA: BAPTISTERY |
The Baptistery was realized in the fourteenth century, and it preserves the graves of the doges and the tomb plate of Jacopo Sansovino, architect and foreman of St. Mark who also realized the christening font source that is placed into the center. The altar rises on a block of granite coming from Tiro, on which,it's narrated, Christ had preached to crowds. |
